Vitexin is quite widely spread in Nature vitexin whamnoside occurs in 11 out of 25 Crataegm species examined, and vitexin has been isolated from many other plants. Vitexin occurs in Humulus japonicus, together with the isomeric apigenin 7-n-glucoside cosmosiin, an observation of biogenetic interest. [Pg.364]

The hop belongs to the plant family of the Cannabinaceae (4), consisting of the two genera Humulus and Cannabis. Humulus has two species, Humulus lupulus L and Humulus Japonicus Sieb. Zucc. All cultivated hops are varieties of Humulus lupulus. Humulus japonicus has no brewing value and is grown only as an ornamental plant. [Pg.10]
