How Many Problems Can Be Handled in Chemistry

Realistically there is a limit as to how many serious problems in a chemistry series can be solved with a reasonable effort. In this author s opinion, optimism as to success declines markedly if there are more than three serious problems. What might a typical three problem profile look like  [Pg.21]

Not potent enough (not selective enough) problem since potency and selectivity are often linked [Pg.21]

So the goal with this type of profile would be to see if progress could be made toward fixing these problems while monitoring those areas where no problem exists. This is important because while trying to fix one problem it is possible to inadvertently introduce a new problem. [Pg.21]
