Hot blast sprinkling

Welding, sintering, fluidized bed sintering, flame spraying, and hot blast sprinkling are types of processing via the viscoelastic state. [Pg.707]

Hot-blast sprinkling is a type of flame spraying in which the metal surfaces do not need to be heated. In many cases, heating of the metal surfaces is best avoided because it causes undesirable changes in the metal structure. In hot-blast sprinkling, the plastic powder is softened by an electrical arc at about 1 600 C (under Ar, He, N2) and blasted onto the worked article with a spray gun. In this way, the metal is only heated up to 50-60 C. Polyamides and epoxy resins can be processed by this method. [Pg.708]
