Lamotrigine hormonal

Coadministration with other hormonal contraceptive preparations or hormone replacement therapy Although the effect of other hormonal contraceptive preparations or replacement therapy on the pharmacokinetics of lamotrigine has not been evaluated, the effect may be similar to oral contraceptives. Therefore, similar adjustments to the dosage of lamotrigine may be needed. 

In two children with cranial diabetes insipidus, desmopressin requirements fell while they were taking lamotrigine (590). Lamotrigine may act at voltage-sensitive sodium channels and reduce calcium conductance. Both of these mechanisms of action are shared by carbamaze-pine, which can cause hyponatremia secondary to inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone. 

Hormonal contraceptives may reduce the levels of lamotrigine, which can lead to a decrease in seizure control.
