Homology in Cyclic Compounds

Homology in cyclic compounds can dramatically change the affinity of a ligand for its target. This is illustrated by a series of cyclic ACE inhibitors related to ena-lapril (Fig. 1.2). 

For these compounds, an almost 4000-fold increase in activity was observed in passing from the five-membered to the eight-membered homologue [9],
