Hfac ligands

Irradiation of [Pt(hfac)2] with an excess of ethene at 350 nm produced an X-ray-characterized five-coordinated intermediate containing both hfac ligands still bidentate (i.e. limiting A mechanism) (208). Quenching of photoexcited [Pt(terpy)Cl]+, and 4 -substituted terpy and NCS- analogues variously, by a range of Lewis bases, such as MeCN, DMSO, py, acetone, has been documented (209). [Pg.99]

Fig. 38. ORTEP diagram of [Ca(hfac)2(H20)2]2 showing that each calcium atom is bonded to one chelating hfac ligand, two water molecules, and a second hfac ligand that is both chelating and bridging. The coordination sphere around each metal is completed by a Ca-F(F2C) interaction (2.92-2.97 A). (Redrawn from Ref. 153.)... Fig. 38. The first CVD growth of CdO films was reported only recently by several groups. Low pressure CVD of CdMe2 with molecular oxygen afforded CdO films at substrate temperatures between 150 and 450 °C. Precursors containing hfac ligands include Cd(hfac)2(tmeda), Cd(hfac)2(H20)2, and Cd(hfac)2(dme). ... [Pg.2637]

The hfac ligand forms very stable and volatile complexes, therefore there is an opportunity for their use in separation and metal vapor deposition reactions. An analogous reaction with PbO will lead to the formation of dimer complexes, which exist in the solid state as a chiral enantiomer connected with the third diglyme oxygen of one unit oriented toward the Pb center of the other unit. Despite the dimer strucmre, this complex is... [Pg.106]

Preparation of Pt shells on Co cores has also been explored via a redox-transmetalation process, where Pt " in Pt(hfac)2 is reduced to Pt, while surface Co atoms on the Co core are oxidized via migration of the hfac ligand repeated cycles of the reaction are required to generate the Pt shell [43] (hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate). [Pg.571]
