Heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts

The low iron leaching from the C2-Us/Ms catalyst exhibits an interesting feature due to the possibility of using this catalyst for a longer operation time for industrial applications. The performance of this catalyst, that shows slower deactivation, seems to be mainly due to the heterogeneous Fenton-like process. Figure 27 shows that most of the iron leaching is as Fe in both catalysts. [Pg.226]

Heterogeneous iron catalyst (Fe -containing ashes) is stable for at least 6 hours in aqueous solutions (50 mM Na2S04, pH 2.8) similar to those found in textile effluents. This implies that, imder the heterogeneous catalyst approach, iron ion is better eontrolled making more efficient the heterogeneous Fenton-like process than in the homogeneous eatalyst approach. [Pg.230]

Perovskites with the general elemental composition of ABO3, where B is Fe, also attracted the attention because of their application as catalysts in liquid-phase oxidation reactions. They revealed high catalytic activities in heterogeneous Fenton-like oxidation at neutral conditions [46,47,55,56]. BiFeOs and... [Pg.481]

LaFeOs perovskites were also used as nanocatalysts for the heterogeneous Fenton-like reactions of phenol and methyl tert-butyl ether as model contaminants and H2O2 as oxidant [47]. The collected experimental results suggested that the performances of the AFeOs perovskite catalysts are influenced by the intrinsic properties of the perovskite (crystal structure, A site cation, or structural impurities) and processes that occur under the Fenton conditions. [Pg.482]

In order to use a catalyst in the heterogeneous Fenton and Fenton-like processes, for industrial applications, there are several features that the catalyst needs to fulfill. Some of these characteristics are high activity, chemical and mechanical stability imder several... [Pg.213]
