Heisenberg antiferromagnet

Single-ion bound excitations in S= 1 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chains with strong planar anisotropy. [Pg.243]

A spin-reduction property cannot be obtained for all the antiferromagnetic compounds. Thus, if ferromagnetic layers are weakly coupled antiferromagnetically, the zero-point spin-reduction will be negligible because the main interaction is the ferromagnetic one. The most impressive examples of spin reduction have been found in 2-D and 1-D Heisenberg antiferromagnetic fluorides. [Pg.138]

The compound CuGe03 is a one-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnetic material which undergoes a spin-Peierls (SP) transition at about 14 K, at which spin and lattice dimerisations may simultaneously occur. Cu and Cu NMR and NQR measurements have provided information about the Cu " electronic state and the spin dynamics in this material (Itoh et al. 1995). An anisotropic Knight shift with axial symmetry was observed and analysis of its temperature dependence suggested a decrease in the spin... [Pg.652]
