Headache lavender

The volatile oil of Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) contains Unrayl acetate and linalool, and lavender also contains coumarins. It has been used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and headaches, and may have small beneficial effects (5). [Pg.1986]

Ammoniacal Lavender Water, Take of oil of lavender (English) I fluid ounce spirit of ammonia (caustic) pints mix. The product is the omciiial preparation of the French. Used as a stimulating pungent scent, in fainting, headaches, Ac. [Pg.236]

Traditional Medicine. Lavender is reportedly used as an antispasmodic, carminative, stimulant, diuretic, sedative, tonic, and stomachic.
