Hamigera tarangaensis

Recently, seven new compounds with a unique carbon skeleton have been isolated from the poecilosclerid sponge Hamigera tarangaensis from New Zealand, e.g. hamigeran B (225) which shows interesting antiviral activity [173]. [Pg.803]

This New Zealand sponge (Hen and Chicken Islands) was used to isolate a dozen brominated aromatic derivatives, hamigerans, with original carbon skeletons. The first publication, in 1995, mentioned Hamigera tarangaensis and announced the benzocyclooctanes, whose structures were revised in 2000 (Cambie et al, 1995 Wellington et al, 2000). [Pg.1084]
