Halogenation of an alcohol

Halogenation of an alcohol may be performed stereoselectively under very mild conditions using 2,4,6-trichloro[l,3,5]triazine and DMF. The reaction occurs with inversion of configuration (Eq. 6.48) [76]. Adding sodium bromide to the reaction mixture in Equation 6.48 can provide the alkyl bromide in high yield. [Pg.182]
