MF < MC1 < MBr < MI . By contrast for less-ionic halides with significant non-coulombic lattice forces (e.g. Ag) solubility in water follows the reverse sequence MI < MBr < MC1 < MF . For molecular halides solubility is determined principally by weak intermolecular van der Waals and dipolar forces, and dissolution is commonly favoured by less-polar solvents such as benzene, CCI4 or CS2. 

Doi et al. studied the effect of different aluminium alkyls on the polydispersity of syndiotactic polypropylene obtained with the V(acac)3-alkyl aluminium halide soluble catalytic system, at temperatures below —65 °C. These authors found that, by varying the type of aluminum alkyl not only the propagation and transfer rates are changed, but also the polymer polydispersity index decreases in the following order ... 

Solubilities are closely related to the ease of hydrate formation. In the ionic halides, solubilities increase with the size of the halide ion fluorides are often particularly insoluble. In the more covalent halides this order of solubility is usually reversed. 

It should also be mentioned that polymers A-D have to be washed correctly in order to remove the soluble organotin species resulting from the synthesis. This aspect has been studied in detail for polymer C and when it was used for the reduction of organic halides, soluble organotin residues... 

Iodide ion, added to [SbCU]", precipitates yellow SbU (in the absence of oxalic or tartaric acids or excessive halide), soluble in, e.g., HCl.
