Group 12 binding modes

To study the binding mode of the yS-D-galactopyranosyl residue of the Lewis b human blood-group determinant to its monoclonal antibody or to a lectin, methyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-0-(6-deoxy-6-fluoro-2-0-a-L-fuco-pyranosyl-y -D-galactopyranosyl)-4-0-a-L-fucopyranosyl-/ -D-glucopyrano-side was synthesized. ... [Pg.221]

The lack of structural detail for interactions involving labile metals, particularly the Group I ions, is problematic and here model compounds are proving useful. A range of binding modes for Na+ and K+ ions involving both T-02 and T-04 have been realized with Nl-alkylated thymi-... [Pg.98]

Another study of a synthetic siderophore analog of mixed cathechol and hydroxamate donor groups exhibited similar spectral shifts with pH as observed for tris-catecholate side-rophores, consistent with a salicylate-binding mode shift (102). While this synthetic siderophore mimic supports the growth of many species of bacteria, it also exhibits a low iron-binding affinity relative to other hexadentate siderophores, with a pFe value of 18.3 (see L(cat2hydroxamate) Table HE). [Pg.201]
