GroEL groups

Under physiological conditions, the T state of GroEL catalyzes the H/2 -exchange of buried >NH groups of bamase that must be fully unfolded for exchange to happen. GroEL can thus cause stable states to become transiently unfolded.96 The weak binding R state has much weaker activity.

Chaperonins are a group of molecular chaperones that are classified into the GroEL/HSP60 (heat shock protein 60) family. They are widely distributed from prokaryotes to eukaryotes and first came to light because of their specific induction...

Five acetic acid bacteria isolated from a traditionally produced cider and kefir vinegars were grouped on the basis of their MALDI-TOF mass spectrometiy (MS) profile. Two strains were classified as members of the genus Acetobacter. By DNA sequence analysis of the housekeeping genes dnaK, groEL, and rpoB, two strains were named as a new species, Acetobacter sicerae sp. nov. (Li et al. 2014).
