Green casting

In commercial installation, the acid is applied to the deasphalted oil in propane solution and the sludge is removed by continuous settling. The acidic oil-propane solution is neutralized continuously with a solution of caustic and water-washed for removal of the last traces of caustic. The oil after removal of propane may be finished by conventional percolation through clay to produce a green cast finished bright stock (4). 

NOTE Potassium bromide, in this formula, will cause a slight green cast with some papers. 20.0ml of Edwal s Liquid Orthazite can be substituted for the bromide. 

Amidol powder works best when it is fresh. Fresh amidol has a slight green cast. Old, oxidized amidol is gray or black. Old amidol will often be usable, but the results will be different from those obtained with a fresh batch, including longer development times. Old amidol also tends to more readily stain prints. 

Polyester OBA, good sublimation properties. May be applied by thermosol or exhaust process. Brilliant white with neutral/ green cast. 

The emerald has been prized from very early times and Cleopatra s Emerald Mines in Upper Egypt were worked in 1650 B.c.— many1 centuries before that famous queen saw the light. Stones with a bluish-green cast are known as aquamarines and H.M. Queen Elizabeth is said to have a collection of these, her favourite stones. The aquamarine is regarded as a lucky stone. 

Senna (Senokot, Ex-Lax, and Agoral) may canse a yellow or yellow-green cast to feces it may canse a red-pink discoloration of alkaline nrine or yellow-brown color in acid nrine. The nnrse shonld teach the client about this when the medication is prescribed.

Mosaic tile model A metaphorical tool to help visualize a green cast tape. Mosaic tiles and some other small tiles sold for bathrooms, kitchens, etc., are sold in sheets. Each tile in these sheets is bound to the others by plastic or metal wire. Seeing the tape-cast sheet as ceramic particles held together by binder wires is useful in understanding and consequently designing the cast tape to suit individual applications. This is covered in depth in Chapter 2.
