Graphic mode

Different processes like eddy turbulence, bottom current, stagnation of flows, and storm-water events can be simulated, using either laminar or turbulent flow model for simulation. All processes are displayed in real-time graphical mode (history, contour graph, surface, etc.) you can also record them to data files. Thanks to innovative sparse matrix technology, calculation process is fast and stable a large number of layers in vertical and horizontal directions can be used, as well as a small time step. Hydrochemical data can be processed in a variety of ways and, accordingly, can be presented in many different ways, including fingerprint diagrams (section 6.2), composition diagrams (section 6.3), histograms, maps, transects (section 7.9), and a host of other graphic modes. 

CGA Acronym for Color/Graphics Adapter. CGA is a video adapter that provided low-resolution text and graphics. CGA provided several different text and graphics modes, including 40- or 80-column by 25-line, 16-color text mode, and graphics modes of 640 horizontal pixels by 200 vertical pixels with 2 colors, or 320 horizontal pixels by 200 vertical pixels with 4 colors. CGA has been superseded by later video standards, including EGA, VGA, SuperVGA, and XGA. 

The cathode ray tubes are scanned in a raster like a television picture. Each scan line is modulated into a series of dots called picture elements (abbreviated to pixels or pels) and each character is built up from these pixels. It soon became possible to manipulate the pixels individually so that as well as characters, dots, lines and shapes could be displayed on the screen. Microcomputers are now available with graphics capabilities rivalling those found on mainframe systems, but at a fraction of the cost. Clearly, more memory locations have to be put aside for graphics displays. For example, compare the text (character) display of the IBM Color/Graphics display with its high-resolution monochrome graphics mode. The 80-character mode puts 25 rows of 80 characters on the screen. Each character is stored in two bytes - one for the character itself and one for its attributes , that is, colour. 

If the diagram has several loops as shown in Fig. 108, the total work is the sum of the areas of the several loops developed by the point travelling in the same direction as the hands of a clock, minus the sum of the areas developed when the point travels in a contrary direction. This graphic mode of representing work was first used by Clapeyron. The diagrams are called Clapeyron s Work Diagrams.

These packages can be divided into two classes the WYSIWYG ( What You See Is What You Get ) programs, which require the computer to operate in graphics mode at least part of the time, and mark-up language programs, which require the computer to operate only in text mode. All these programs are beyond the scope of this book (7-4). 

Products such as EMU-TEK and PC-PLOT have probably revolutionised chemical information in a way which many people do not reaUse. Until emulation packages of this sort became available the only way of using services like CAS ONLINE or DARC in graphics mode was to use very expensive graphics terminals. Terminal emulation packages offer a cheaper alternative and as a result have increased usage of CAS ONLINE and other services. 

On balance then, the ideal for a de novo design program would be to have both batch and interact ve/graphical modes of operation possible. Such a combination would provide for great flexibility both in terms of the manner of operation of the program and terms of novices, as well as experienced users, running it. If only one type of interface is implemented, careful thought should... 

Data are presented in both tabular and differential and cumulative graphical mode and up to 5 measurements can be compared in a single presentation.
