Grade dichloromethane

Reagent grade dichloromethane is dried by passing over a column of aluminum oxide (activity I). 

The submitters used reagent-grade dichloromethane without purification. The checkers dried dichloromethane by distillation from phosphorous pentoxide. 

Technical-grade dichloromethane was dried by refluxing over phosphorus pentoxide for 24 hours and distilled. 

Reagent-grade dichloromethane was used without further purification. 

Acetonitrile (ACN), HPLC grade Dichloromethane, analytical grade Ethyl acetate, analytical grade n-Hexane, analytical grade Methanol, HPLC grade... 

Acetonitrile, reagent grade Dichloromethane, reagent grade... 

Reagent grade dichloromethane obtained from J. T. Baker Inc. was used. 

Reagent-grade dichloromethane is distilled under argon from calcium hydride. 

Solvent grade dichloromethane was dried and stored over Linde type 4A molecular sieves.

Reagent-grade dichloromethane was extracted repeatedly with concentrated sulfuric acid, washed twice with water, dried with anhydrous calcium chloride, and distilled from phosphorus pentoxide before use.2... 

Use HPLC grade dichloromethane, or distil it from CaH2 or P4O10. 

Solvent grade dichloromethane was dried over calcium hydride, refluxed and distilled freshly before use. 

Dichloromethane was distilled over calcium hydride before use. The submitters found that identical reaction yields were obtained using commercial amylene-free HPLC-grade dichloromethane. 

Reagent grade dichloromethane was purchased from Fisher Scientific Co. and used as received. 

A solution of 1.0 g. ofcZZ-cZs-l-hydroxy-3-(l,l-dimethylheptyl)-6,6-dimethyl-6,6a,7,8,10,10a-hexahydro-9H-dibenzo[b,d]pyran-9-one in 40 mL. of commercial grade dichloromethane was stirred at 24° C. while 1.0 g. of aluminum chloride was added in one portion. The reaction mixture was stirred at 24° C. for five hours. The reaction mixture was then washed with IN hydrochloric acid solution and with water. After dr5dng the organic solution, the solvent was removed therefrom by evaporation... 

Laboratory grade dichloromethane was first distilled and then was further purified and dried by distillation from calcium hydride. The submitters used solvent supplied by EM Science. 

Tris(4-A, Af-dimethylaminophenyl)bismuth dichloride (0.100 g, 0.156 mmol) was dissolved in reagent grade dichloromethane (20 ml) in the presence of 1.5 equiv. of NaOH (5 mg). The solution was stirred for 3 h and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to about 4 ml and kept at 0°C. After a few days, oxybis[tris(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)bismuth] dichloride was obtained as yellow crystals in 35% yield (m.p. 159°C, decomp.) [960M5613]. 

HPLC-grade dichloromethane was purchased from Mallinckrodt Inc. and used without further purification. 

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) grade dichloromethane (DCM) (see Note 2).
