Gold nanoparticles single molecule studies

Gold nanoparticles capped with thiolate groups have received considerable study in recent years. Recently, two such nanoclusters have been isolated in crystalline forms that have proven suitable for single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The first of these involved a cluster of 102 gold atoms surrounded by 44p-mercaptobenzoic acid molecules capping the exterior [66]. [Pg.43]
