Gelatin from collagen

Gelatin colloids consist of cross-Unked peptide chains obtained from collagen. They are employed for blood replacement, but not for hemodilution, in circulatory disturbances.

It is interesting to see that proteins with high Q-values above 1400 as e.g. soybean protein, casein wheat gluten, potato protein, Zein are the "parents" of bitter peptides, whereas no bitter peptides have been isolated from hydrolysates prepared from collagen or gelatin, proteins with Q-values below 1300. 

Gelatin is made from collagen, which is a structural protein composed primarily of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. As a result, gelatin has low nutritional value because it lacks many of the essential amino acids.

Tablets for vaginal use have included hydroxypropylcellulose or sodium carboxy-methylcellulose and poly(acrylic acid) (such as Carbopol 934) as excipients. Micropatches in the size range fO-fOO,am in diameter prepared from starch, gelatin, albumin, collagen...

Gelatine Protein product soluble, respectively, swellable in water, extracted from collagen.
