In a meta-analysis the success rate of radiologically placed gastrostomy is higher, 99.2%, compared to endoscopic placement, 95.7% and the procedure related mortality less, 0.3 compared with 0.5 (p<0.001). The 30-day mortality rates were equal, 15%. There was no difference in total complications, 13.3% and 15.4% respectively.
