Gas Sensor Applications of Metallo-Complexes

In addition, metallo-complexes may play the role of catalysts (Hwang et al. 2007). In particular, MPcs and derivatives are shown to catalyze reactions like the reduction of oxygen and CO (Ceyhan et al. 2006). The catalytic behavior of MPc complexes is associated with the redox activity of the central metal which undergoes oxidation and reduction. The values of the oxidation or reduction potentials of the central metal in an MPc thus strongly influence the catalytic behavior of the complexes which is essential for the design of more efficient gas sensors. [Pg.157]
