Gas Mover Safety Precautions

Proper design of a machine and its associated piping (or ductwork) is of primary importance to safety. Consider the following factors when designing 

Compatibility of the equipment and materials of construction with the gas. Type of packing or mechanical seal. 

Provision of drain connections for moisture ontaining gases. Spark-proof construction for flammable gas. Standard -0401-66 of the AMCA defines three types of spark-resistant construction Type A all parts in contact with the gas nonferrous. 

Type B nonferrous wheel and nonferrous ring about the opening through which the shaft passes. 

Type C shift of wheel or shaft will not cause two ferrous parts to rub or strike each other.
