Fuel Cell Ripple Current

Corrective measures for limiting fuel cell ripple current The following corrective measures are suggested for limiting the fuel cell ripple current (especially for power conditioners with single phase AC output) ... [Pg.289]

The ZRBC is a standard non-isolated boost converter, with the conventional inductor replaced by a zero-ripple inductor (ZRI). The secondary winding of the ZRI is connected to an external trimming inductor and a filter capacitor as shown in Fig. 24. Unlike the boost converter, the input current in a ZRBC is split between the two windings of the ZRI, as shown in Fig. 25. The primary winding conducts the DC current while the secondary winding conducts the AC current, thereby, making the output current of the fuel cell ripple free. [Pg.348]

As happens with fuel cells, these phenomena play a crucially important role in the interactions with the static converters (power electronics), as shown in [RAL 11]. They act as an internal filter against high-frequency current ripples. More generally, the electrochemical double layer phenomena constitute a true electrostatic inertial point at each electrode, preventing the potential from changing instantaneously. [Pg.96]
