From Sodium Telluride and Aroyl Chlorides

Sodium telluride, prepared from the elements in liquid ammonia, reacted with 2-chlorobenzoyl chloride in hexane and with 1-naphthoyl chloride in toluene in the dark to yield diaroyl telluriums  

Sodium telluride, prepared from tellurium and sodium borohydride in water, condensed with phthaloyl chloride in toluene in the presence of a phase-transfer agent to produce 1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro 2-benzotellurophene.

However, benzoyl chlorides and sodium telluride under these conditions gave benzoyl benzyl tellurium and not dibenzoyl tellurium (p. 560). 

Acetyl chloride and pivaloyl chloride reacted with bis[trimethylsilyl] tellurium at low temperatures to produce the dialkanoyl tellurium in quantitative yield as extremely air- and moisture-sensitive yellow liquids.
