From Diorgano Tellurium Dihalides and Metal Thiocyanates 

Diorgano tellurium dihalides exchange halides for thiocyanate when treated with ammonium thiocyanate in methanol or silver thiocyanate in chloroform, acetone or toluene . 

Tellurane l,l-Bis[thiocyanate] 1.0 g (2.2 mmol) of tellurane 1,1 -diiodide is dissolved in 40 ml of acetone and 0.5 g (6 mmol) of freshly prepared silver thiocyanate arc added. The mixture is stirred, the silver iodide is filtered off and the filtrate is evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue is washed with petroleum ether (b.p. 60-80°) and dried under vacuum yield 0.31 g (45%) m.p. 100°. 

Diorgano tellurium dihalides stirred with silver selenocyanate or potassium selenocyanate in chloroform or acetone produce diorgano tellurium bis[selenocyanates]
