Aqueous nitric acid, varying in concentration from dilute to concentrated, oxidized diorgano tellurium compounds to diorgano tellurium hydroxide nitrates Some of these compounds are reported to explode when heated above their melting points . 

Butyl /-Menthoxycarbonylmethyl Tellurium Hydroxide Nitrate 5g (13 mmol) of butyl /-menthoxycarbonylmethyl tellurium is mixed with 10 m/ of 6 molar (or 100 ml of 0.6 molar) (60 mmol) of nitric add. The product separates as a glassy solid which is collected, washed with water, and dried under vacuum yield 6 g (100%) m.p. 42°. 

Boiling diaryl tellurium dinitrates in water is reported to give diaryl tellurium hydroxide nitrates.  

Addition of a few drops of nitric acid to an aqueous solution of 1,4-oxatellurane 4,4-dihydroxide resulted in precipitation of white crystals of the hydroxide nitrate.
