Fractionation split

For a binary, let s denote as V the fractional molar split of the feed into overhead product and as L the fractional split into bottom product. Calculate compositions of the flash separation of feed into vapor v and liquid 1 to give v/1 = V/L. The resulting vapor can be regarded as being composed of a portion d of the overhead product composition and a portion r of the flash liquid composition. [Pg.51]

Calculate the fractional split of each component, and hence the top and bottom compositions. [Pg.523]

The encircled variables have known values. The reaction parameters in the reactor are known as the fraction split at the splitter between FA and F5. Each stream is a single phase. [Pg.81]

One way to utilize a stabilizer Is illustrated In Figure 5, which is simply the Figure 4 process with the liquids from K and 4 diverted to a stabilizer. The stabilizer could be either refluxed or cold-feed, as a further variation. This process reduces the recycle load significantly in the two lower compression stages, as compared to the previous processes. This process also provides an additional control for the crude oil vapor pressure which can be independently varied, since the fractionator split can be controlled and the fractionator bottom product is blended with the crude stream. It may be desirable to blend this stream into separator 1... [Pg.82]

Step 1. The first step in the procedure is to determine the key component equilibrium curve slope M. This is for one component only. You must choose a light key and a heavy key component for this tray efficiency calculation. Select components that are keys in the fractionator split. A single K = Y/X equilibrium value is to be applied to absorbers and strippers as this M value. The change of Y per the change of X is sought out for the light key component. [Pg.93]

In contrast, it is highly relevant that with the same number of theoretical stages, the reflux ratio to achieve the specified fractionation split is lowest for the... [Pg.299]

In the conceptual design stage of a rectification unit, the initial objective is to determine the reflux number and the quantity of theoretical stages required to achieve the desired fractionation split at minimum costs. As a result of this procedure, the heat and mass balances of the column including the internal liquid and vapour flows get known, which are essential for the column design as well as for the selection of the type of internal mass transfer equipment best suited for the specific separation task. [Pg.302]
