Formamide INDEX

As an example, a foam prepared from III, alumina trihydrate as a filler, benzoyl peroxide as a curing agent, and azobis formamide as a blowing agent, leads to a material with an oxygen index of 48, a long-term stability to at least 150 °C, and a smoke density about one fifth that of a commercial foam [284]. 

The hydroboration/oxidation sequence does not change the molecular-weight distribution. The lipophilic index (log K 0) of methocarbamol was 1.54 as determined by correlation of HPLC retention times with those of formamide. Chromatographic conditions Nucleosil 5 C18 (4.6 mm i.d. x 150 mm), mobile phase - water (30-90%) methanol (70-10%), UV detection (220 nm), column temp 40°C27. 

Gel Permeation Chromatography. A Waters (model 150-C ALC/GPC) liquid chromatograph with a refractive index detector was used for molecular weight characterization. The unit was equipped with two sets of silanized Dupont blmodcLl columns (Zorbax PSM 60S/100S), with molecular weight range 2 x 10z to 10° and total retention volume of 24 ml. In Sect. 5.2.1 the structural properties of the two columnar phases Coli and C0I2 formed by mixtures of C50 and water or formamide are discussed. In this appendix details on the indexation of their X-ray diffraction patterns as weU as on the calculation of the electron density map of the Coli phase are given. 

Figure 3.10a, b shows ATR-FUV spectra in the 140-260 nm region for formamide (FA), N-methylformamlde (NMF), N-methylacetamide (NMA), NJ l-dimethylformamide (NdMF), and N,N-dimethylacetamide (NdMA) in the liquid phase and their absorption index spectra obtained by the Kramers-Kronig transformation, respectively [9]. All FUV spectra show a peak due to amide group in the 180-200 nm region. The peak maximum varies in the order of FA (6.88 eV), NMA (6.81 eV), NMF (6.67 eV), NdMA (6.44 eV), and NdMF (6.44 eV) with the intensity being lowered as the number of methyl groups on the N atom increases.
