Food additives and childhood behavior disorders

In the 1970s, Feingold proposed that food additives, especially colors and flavors, caused hyperactivity and other childhood behavior disorders. He further claimed that instituting a special diet lacking these substances would treat the conditions (Feingold 1974, 1975a, 1975b, 1976, 1978, 1982).
