Folding event

A solution leading to a successful algorithm was recently found for the folding of ribonucleic acid (RNA) [36], Natural RNA polymers (figure C2.14.1) are mainly made up from four different bases . A, C, G and U. As with DNA, multiple hydrogen bonding favours the fonnation of G-C and A-U pairs [16, 37, 38] which leads to the appearance of certain characteristic stmctures. Loop closure is considered to be the most important folding event. [Pg.2821]

The intermediate and felsic dykes associated with the host volcaniclastic rocks are believed to postdate the youngest metamorphic event in the TVB, In contrast the mafic dykes post date all but the latest folding event. The dykes have been divided into 4 populations (D1,... [Pg.333]

Fig. 11. Representations of the folding event in 3 different order parameter planes. The free energy landscape from replica exchange is given by thin solid contour lines separated by 0.2 ksT. A few smoothed paths in the F-H ensemble are denoted by a scatter plot [small dots). Each dot represents a time slice along a path. Also given are the different committor ensembles pB < 0.2 light gray, 0.4 < pB < 0.6 in dark gray and pB > 0.9 in black. The apparent transition state saddle points in the FE landscape are indicated by arrows... Fig. 11. Representations of the folding event in 3 different order parameter planes. The variability in these results may be due to the different membrane lipid composition of the oocytes as well as differences in maturation and folding events. " Even nAChRs found in mammalian cell lines differ from native receptors. Interactions with other membrane proteins, adapter proteins, or cytoskeletal elements, which may not be present or sufficientiy expressed in the nonneuronal oocytes, may be important in modulating receptor activity... [Pg.520]

Mohnen (1977), based on earlier work of Danielsen (1964, 1968) and Reiter (1975) 320 -470 Stratospheric-tropospheric air mass exchange tropopause folding events plus large-scale Hadley circulation m(03) = 1.3 pg/g assumed. [Pg.212]
