Flyby experiment

Osis spread the word that he was looking for people who could have OOBEs at will. For those who contacted him, he arranged for a flyby experiment at a designated time. The self-professed OOBE traveler was to try to have an OOBE and travel to a laboratory room at the American Society for Psychical Research. He or she was to mail a description of that room to Osis. About 100 persons have been tested this way, but Osis... 

Work has gone on with a few OOBE people who showed some promise. Some of the most interesting work has been done with Alex Tanous, another person who, like Swann, had had many apparently psychic experiences as a child but had had to suppress them in order to get along. He describes his childhood in his book Beyond Coincidence One Man s Experience with Psychic Phenomena [133]. He was selected from the flyby experiment. 

Venus atmosphere is so dry that Earth-based and spacecraft measurements of the water-vapor abundance are extremely difficult. Historically, many of the in situ water-vapor measurements gave values much higher than the actual water-vapor content. However, reliable values are now available from several sources including the Pioneer Venus mass spectrometer, spectrophotometer experiments on Venera 11-14, Earth-based FTIR spectroscopy of Venus lower atmosphere on the nightside, and IR observations during the Galileo and Cassini flybys of Venus.
