Fluorous-Tagged Scavengers

2 Supported/Tagged Reactive Functionalities for the Sequestration of Nucleophiles 195 [Pg.195]

Lindsley and coworkers have reported the synthesis of a suite of fluorous-tagged scavengers for parallel solution phase synthesis (Figure 8.4) [32]. These scavengers have been applied towards the synthesis of various libraries in high efficiency and exceptional purity (>96%). Of particular note is the use of a tagged-epoxide for removal of alkoxide and thiols (Scheme 8.21). [Pg.197]

Zhang and coworkers have developed the use of fluorous-tagged isocyanate as well as isatoic anhydride and acid chloride for the scavenging of amines for use in combinatorial as well as conventional chemistry (Figure 8.3) [30]. All reagents were readily prepared from commercially available sources, and the F-isatoic anhydride was prepared via a simple NaH-mediated alkylation of isatoic anhydride with per-fluoroalkyl halide. [Pg.196]

An alternative approach to scavenging that does not utilize polyethylene glycol) (PEG), silica or fluorous tags is ionic liquids. One such account was the application of quaternary ammonium salts bearing amino functionality reported by Stien in 2002 [73]. These high-load scavengers were utilized in scavenging excess electro-... [Pg.220]
