Fluorous carboxylic acid protecting group

TBDPS was not extracted with FC-72, the deprotected tetrasaccharide 35 was easily extracted with FC-72. Each synthetic intermediate was easily purified by simple FC-72 and organic solvent extraction and monitored as a single compound by NMR, mass spectroscopy and TLC, in contrast to the solid-phase synthesis. [Pg.104]

This strategy was successfully applied fo a practical synthesis of a trisaccharide part of globotriaosyl ceramide. A highly fluorinated carboxyUc acid (Hfb) was also prepared and used for rapid and large-scale synthesis of a thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH).  [Pg.104]

The first wave of research into fluorous compounds focused exclusively on using fluorous solvents as separation media. The first publication on the use of fluorous silica gel in 1997 marked a dividing point,as the field began to diverge into what are now often called its heavy and fluorous branches. [Pg.104]

Fluorous tertiary alcohols were prepared and applied as protecting groups of carboxylic acids. The fluorous alcohols were reacted with phenylacetic acid and... [Pg.102]
