Flocculation by organic cationic coagulant

Amounts 0.5 to 1.5 mg l of flocculant (type 1 polymer) generally in powder or sometimes anionic polymer. 

These polymer doses do nor significantly increase the mass of the sludge and, more important, do not impair its good initial concentratability. 

In order to choose these polyelectrolytes, it is useful to know the characteristics of the four different types given in Table 21.
