Flanged couplings

Berth operator to take reasonably practicable steps to control flammable or toxic gas escapes (e.g. hose support, flange couplings liquid- or gas-tight, drip trays). [Pg.481]

Flanged couplings are used where there is free access to both shafts. Split couplings are used where access is limited on one side. Both flanged and split couplings require the use of keys and keyways. Compression couplings are used when it is not possible to use keys and keyways (e.g., brass shafts). [Pg.991]

A slow flow of water is maintained in the CPP, in order to realise a uniformity in its temperature and in order to make it easy, through special check points, the detection of potential small losses of primary flow into the CPP, through the flanged couplings. The detection is made possible by the small under pressure of the CPP boundary with respect to the primary coolant pressure. [Pg.475]
