A fit check is an on-the-spot check that you should do to make sure the respirator is still working correctly. Do a fit check each time you wear a face-sealing respirator.

About every 8 hours, grease all of the Zerk fittings. Check the hydraulic fiuid and oil daily. If the fluid is low, the backhoe will not operate properly. 

The user seal check cannot be performed on some tight-fitting respirators by employees with small hands who cannot block off the valves. Some manufacturers make a fit check cup that can be used to perform a user seal check with filtering facepiece respirators.
