First-time borrowers

The Warden theory is noteworthy for its heavy reliance on examples and analogies that have a scientific connotation, such as equations (i.e.. Physical x Moral = Outcome) the enemy system as a human body, or solar system reference to electrons and atoms reliance of architectural metaphors and the use of the concept of centers of gravity. This theory was not the first time in history that such reference had been made. " For example, Clausewitz s theories of friction in war and centers of gravity were identified as being borrowed from the physics of the day. Airpower theory, and the targeting assessments that it spawned, have long had an association, however, tenuous, with scientific terminology. 

Other parameters are more difficult to calculate. However, they can be very much more useful because they take into account two other important aspects. Firstly, the pattern of flow of money into and out of the business (cash-flow) since items of income (revenue) and expenditure (outgoings) can vary a lot with time. For instance, as can be seen in Figure 13.5, initially expenditure greatly exceeds income, whereas later on once the plant is operating and product is being sold income exceeds expenditure. Secondly there is the time value of money , that is money received now is more valuable than the same sum of money received in a years time, as it can be invested and interest will have accmed on it by the end of the year. Hence, early income to a business is valuable as it can be invested in the business and so saves having to borrow money to buy equipment, pay wages, etc. Thus the value of money is not completely absolute, but is a function of time. 

Small dimensions you can borrow a simple electronic microscope. Realize that even learning to work with a children s microscope takes time, and that software always has its frustrations. Let one person try this out first. You will find that preparation of the sample, the lighting you use and a critical attitude to what you see are all important in microscopy. Do not expect wonders immediately.

In the first step the positions of all atoms in the cell are optimized. Cell parameters are usually borrowed from experiment. In some cases they are optimized [84] and in some cases not [85]. Harmonic frequency calculations verify that the computed structure corresponds to the global PES minimum. In the second step the anharmonic OH stretching [83, 84] frequency is estimated using ID potential curves calculated as a function of the displacement for the hydrogen atom. In the third step classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are performed. The IR [85] or vibrational spectrum [82, 83] of the crystal is computed from the Fourier transform of the corresponding time correlation function (see Section 9.3.1). 

An ice storm, windstorm, tornado, forest fire, or flood may bring down power lines by the hundreds. Under those circumstances electric companies customarily borrow skilled professionals from one another to augment their own work forces. First Responders have their own jobs to perform at such times, usually as part of a task force.
