Filgrastim adverse effects

Few studies have directly compared the safety of the various available colony-stimulating factors. The frequency and severity of adverse effects associated with the prophylactic use of filgrastim (a bacterial cell-derived G-CSF) or sargramostim (a yeast cell-derived GM-CSF) have been assessed in a retrospective review of the medical records of 490 cancer patients from 10 centers (9). [Pg.1542]

There were no major differences in the adverse effect profiles in 42 patients with breast cancer randomized to filgrastim (G-CSF) or molgramostim (GM-CSF) (SEDA-22, 407). There were no significant differences in the adverse effects profiles and severity of adverse effects in 181 patients with cancers randomized to receive filgrastim (G-CSF) or sargramostim (GM-CSF) for chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression (6). [Pg.2408]
