For samples such as paint chips, fibers, minerals, and so on, which are difficult to grind or suspend and are not soluble, an alternative is to place the sample into a quartz tube that is surrounded by either a coil of ferromagnetic material for Curie-point units or resistive wire for filaments. [Pg.61]
