Ferrocenes reactions

Ferrocene, reaction with bis(dimethyl-amino) methane to yield di-methylaminomethylferrocene, 40,31... 

The study of the direct irradiation and triplet sensitized isomerization of styryl-ferrocene, reaction (46), is noteworthy.134) For either direct or benzophenone sensitized photoisomerization the photostationary state is exclusively the trans isomer. 

Dichloroferrocenylborane is also produced by the reaction of BCl, with ferrocene, albeit at a much slower rate. The difference in reactivity may be attributable to the greater ability of B2CI4 to form a 77-complex, analogous to the tetracyanoethylene-ferrocene complex (89) or may reflect the importance of the HBClj-ferrocene reaction. Neither B2F4, BF3, nor HBF2 appears to react with ferrocene (62). 

Quantum yields for the primary reactions are in all cases =< 1 with CTTS photoexcitation. Irradiation producing Intramolecular metallocene excited states, however, is Ineffective. Sensitization of the ferrocene reaction has also been investigated (Section III-D-1). 

Several special dicarboxylic acid salts were used to produce both fer-rocene and cobalticinum-containing polyesters. Ferrocene reactions to produce structure 9, were studied as a function of pH. The pK q for 1,1 -ferrocenedicarboxylic acid (FDCA) is not known but should be near 6.8. ...
