Feeding bed

Derezinski, S., The Compression of the Resin Solid Feed Bed in Extrusion, /. Plast. Eilm Sheeting, 5, 271 (1989)... [Pg.128]

There should be no need to feed beds of annuals and biennials. [Pg.191]

There shall be storage areas, as needed, for feed, bedding, supplies, and equipment. [Pg.70]

The continuing presence of DDT (and its metabolites) in milk prompted detailed studies on the epidemiology of DDT on several dairy farms. All conceivable sources and reservoirs for DDT on a dairy farm, including all the feed, bedding, water, corral environment, and soil, were sampled and analyzed for DDT and its metabolites. The DDT (and its metabolites) in the milk fat was also determined for 6 to 18 consecutive months at the end of the month during which the feed sampled was fed. If the DDT input is known, it should be possible to predict the level of DDT appearing in the milk fat on the basis of the numerous feeding studies on dairy cows carried out with DDT (2,4,5,6,12,14,17). [Pg.108]

The above calculation is quite tedious and gets complicated by the fact that the properties which ultimately control the magnitude of these fourteen unknown quantities further depend on the physical and chemical parameters of the system such as reaction rate constants, initial size distribution of the feed, bed temperature, elutriation constants, heat and mass transfer coefficients, particle growth factors for char and limestone particles, flow rates of solid and gaseous reactants. In a complete analysis of a fluidized bed combustor with sulfur absorption by limestone, the influence of all the above parameters must be evaluated to enable us to optimize the system. In the present report we have limited the scope of our calculations by considering only the initial size of the limestone particles and the reaction rate constant for the sulfation reaction. [Pg.141]

To optimize the combustion process, an adequate control of flow feeding, bed temperature and air excess has been stablished. The control of these parameters yields a high efficiency (>99%) and a clean combustion process. [Pg.931]

There shall be storage areas, as needed, for feed, bedding, supplies, and equipment. Storage areas for feed and bedding shall be separated from areas housing the test systems and shall be protected against infestation or contamination. Perishable supplies shall be preserved by appropriate means. [Pg.318]

Straw, obtained after the removal of grain and chaff from the dry stalks of cereal plants, is an agricultural by-product. Straw has various applications such as fuel, animal feed, bedding for livestock like horses, packaging and decoration material, and constraction materials. About half of the yield of cereal crops such as barley, oats, rice, rye, and wheat is straw. Straws are the main agricultural waste materials and by-products of agricultural plants and are rich resources of biofibers. Its wide utilization in different fields draws the attention of researchers to make useful industrial products from such agriculture by-products [19-23]. [Pg.242]
