The maxima of second kind, observed in the middle of the diffusion current, are never sharp. They can possess the form of a rounded maximiun, a general increase of the limiting current or even a form of a false wave. They are usually observed at concentrations of the supporting electrolyte higher than 0-2 M. Their dependence on the mercury pressure is characteristic, and they increase with increasing height of the mercury column (substantially more than the difiFusion or adsorption cmrent) (Fig. 19). [Pg.28]

Microwave movement detectors utilize the principle of the Doppler effect on high-frequency low-power radio waves. These units are moderate in cost and suitable for large-volume coverage. Microwaves, however, penetrate certain materials easily, such as plasterboard, and careful siting is required to avoid false alarms. [Pg.48]

When the V1-V2 electrodes are positioned very high, an initial Q wave may be recorded in SAH, due to the first activation vector, which is directed downwards. This suggests the false pattern of septal infarction that disappears when the electrodes are located more inferiorly.
