The equilibrium of a reaction is affected by factors such as changes in concentration, pressure, and temperature. The likely resulting changes in equilibrium can be predicted on the basis of Le Chatelier s principle which can be stated as follows  [Pg.154]

If we change the conditions (factors such as the ones mentioned above) of a reaction system in equilibrium, the system will shift in such a way as to reduce the imbalance caused by the stress. This is Le Chatelier s principle. [Pg.154]
