Face-Centered Cubic Platinum as a Catalyst

One of the most extensively studied reactions in the past years, and whose elementary steps appears to be best understood, is the catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide on a Pt catalyst [23]  

This reaction is a very important process in automobile catalytic converters.
