Most belt-feeder designs feature a fabric or an elastomer-covered, fabrie-reinforced band, supported by idlers or plates. Materials are sheared from the storage hopper above and delivered to the belt. Feed rates are controlled by adjusting the gate that controls the depth of materials on the belt.
