Eyepiece, light microscopy

Although this is a particularly accurate way of measuring cantilever deflection, light microscopy can be also be used to directly measure deflection, as demonstrated in the measurement of tenacity of PAN nanofibers (d (nm) 1200 nm), where a caUhtated eyepiece was used to measure deflection (Warner et al. 1998).
