Extrapolation data-driven

Text analysis A sensible starting point for any prediction would be to extrapolate current trends. To this extent, it is reasonable to assume that TTS will become entirely data driven. I think it is incontestable that the front end, or text processing component will become entirely statistical. In recent years the advances in statistical NLP have been enormous, fueled by the use of search engines and the need to translate documents. I think many of these techniques are directly applicable to TTS and will be adopted. [Pg.549]

Analysis of the static behavior shows that with respect to interpolation, the hybrid model performs well and with respect to extrapolation, performance is determined by the quality of the data driven fuzzy models (Fig. 30.17). [Pg.432]

For a long time, this knowledge on carbon-centred radicals has driven the analysis of spectroscopic data obtained for silicon-centred (or silyl) radicals, often erroneously. The principal difference between carbon-centred and silyl radicals arises from the fact that the former can use only 2s and 2p atomic orbitals to accommodate the valence electrons, whereas silyl radicals can use 3s, 3p and 3d. The topic of this section deals mainly with the shape of silyl radicals, which are normally considered to be strongly bent out of the plane (a-type structure 2) [1]. In recent years, it has been shown that a-substituents have had a profound influence on the geometry of silyl radicals and the rationalization of the experimental data is not at all an extrapolation of the knowledge on alkyl radicals. Structural information may be deduced by using chemical, physical or theoretical methods. For better comprehension, this section is divided in subsections describing the results of these methods. [Pg.6]

A PK/PD model based on more specific and mechanism-based responses offers some advantages in terms of interpreting data and extrapolating the finding to different species, especially when the species difference is driven by different pharmcodynamics.40-42 However, mechanism-based modeling usually takes a... [Pg.324]
