Extraction, aqueous reagents Subject

Solid matrices extracted with methanol methanol extract spiked to reagent grade water and the aqueous solution subjected to purge and trap concentration and analyzed as above. [Pg.292]

To a solution of the ketone (300 mg, 1.05 mmol) stirred at 5 °C under argon was added the methylenation reagent (2.5 equivalents). After being stirred for 4 h at this temperature, the reaction was diluted with CH2CI2 and then poured into a cold saturated aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate. The mixture was extracted with ether. The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried, filtered, and concentrated. The residue was subjected to column chromatography to afford 270 mg (91%) of the terminal olefin as an oil. [Pg.178]
