Draw a large electron dot diagram of an element you choose. Have other activity participants do that too. [Pg.138]

How many electrons does your element have Gather that many rubber bands. [Pg.138]

Place about half of the rubber bands on one wrist and half on the other. [Pg.138]

Form bonds by finding someone who has the number of rubber bands you need to total eight. Try to form as many different compounds with different elements as you can. (You may need two or three of another element s atoms to make a compound.) Record the compounds you make in your Science Journal. Label each compound as ionic or covalent. [Pg.138]
