Exterior Decorative Coating Formulations

I 6 Applications for Decorative and Protective Coatings Talx 6-4 Exterior decorative flat formulation. [Pg.148]

There are significant regional distinctions in the formulation of decorative coatings. Differences in building materials and, consequently, the substrates to which coatings are commonly appHed, underlie many of these dishnchons. For example. North America (NA), Australia - New Zealand (ANZ) and Scandinavia all have relahvely high levels of wood substrates, whereas masonry substrates are more common in Europe, Latin America (LA) and Asia. Substrate differences are a major factor in the preference of acryhcs for exterior wood appHcations in NA, ANZ and Scandinavia, the use of elastomeric wall coatings for masonry applicahons in Europe, and the choice of styrene acryhcs for masonry applicahons in LA and Asia. [Pg.138]
